A private TV channel based in Jakarta.
December 1, 2005.

The TV belongs to a large media group. Thus, a newspaper of the group got the opportunity to broadcast its editorial of the day. In conjuction with the ongoing event, the editor talked about "injecting drugs user". In the end, the conclusion was an invitation for all to use condoms and not sharing needles.

Callers were invited to state their opinions.

First caller in:
"I do not agree with pouring assistance to HIV positive people because it is their own fault (to have HIV)."

Let's have a look at other statements below:

1. I do not agree with giving micro credits to poor people because it is their own fault that they are poor (and not working hard enough and not smart enough. Therefore, let the poor people suffer)

2. I do not agree with helping a motorist who are a victim of a road accident because the motorist is wearing no helmet. (So, let that motorist bleed to death)

3. I do not agree with saving a drowning person because the person who cannot swim insisted on swimming. (So, we'd better let that person drown to death)

I can see that the six billion or so human beings on Earth is loosing humanity and compassion at the same time. We become perfect human driven by perfect morale in a perfect world of our dream.

There is no irony.
